At Mother Earth's / Emma's Tamales our mission is to offer wholesome ready to eat food that will Nourish your body, Feed your Soul and Lift your Spirit*. We share with our own families what we share in the market place with the world, well, at least the Western U.S.

America is on the move and eating well is an important component to sustain an active lifestyle. When I'm on a road trip I live on them but I eat them often here at work and at home as well. We package them so they are easy to transport and have a long shelf life without the use of preservatives. We take pride in using expeller pressed oils because they are not derived using Hexane. Hexane is a common chemical used to extract oils for food use which is known to cause cancer and is bad for our environment. Major fast food chains, conventional food companies and many others use these oils; they make margarine with these oils too. I find it ironic that as Americans consume more vegetable oil cancer rises. Cancer is now the leading cause of death, while death from heart disease has moved to second place. I look at it this way, at the nucleus of every cell is fat, think about it……….a nut, a seed, etc…once that cell is mutated does it become cancer? You know the answer, we Americans aren't stupid! Also, sources on the web claim that the human brain is up to 90% fat, imagine that!

We use expeller pressed canola for it's taste, high heating point and health benefits which are similar to olive oil. We also use cold pressed extra-virgin olive oil in our organic Spanish rice and seafood tamales. Our tamales are made with our special blend of non-gmo corn & organic non-gmo corn and we use non-gmo organic Tofu from our local Sacramento Tofu Co. Our local produce company knows to always bring us organic over conventional as long as it's within our cost effectiveness range and all produce is thoroughly rinsed and checked. Our chicken is always skinless lean all natural meat.
